And so begins the streak....

Our Capital City Gents team finally won our first game of the season 4-3! WOOOOO, I JUST WANNA DANCE!!! Haha. Iwas by no means inc-ROY-able, but stopped enough to hold on for the win. After getting pummeled all season, including a 7-0 loss to the best league team last game, our team decided to start scoring goals. Let's hope it continues...

Christmas party season is upon us. I will be hosting my co-workers at my new house this year. Should be a good time. None of my co-workers have been to my house or witnessed the J. and M. parté before, so I hope I can put on a good fête.

But what to do for entertainment. I know they just want to eat drink and be merry, but I would like to have some kind of activity to keep the party going. I'm thinking about some Northstar girls, maybe a roulette table? So far it's my only Christmas party so I would like to make it memorable. Regardless, I have a bunch of wine, so I'm hoping that fact alone will inspire some holiday entertainment.

Having an ugly day today. You know when you look at yourself in the mirror and say 'God, I shouldn't be out in public. Kids will run away screaming,' ? Maybe not. Some people are just always gorgeous. Be confident Bowie! Maybe tomorrow I'll brink sexy back

This is pretty freaky

Check out the following link. It's seven minutes, and well, my brain wants to say 'wow that's a pretty wicked little film short done on the cheap'. But I'll be honest. It scared me.

If you like scary movies, check it out. It's not like a creepy car commercial or a joke. It's scary. Click on the link, then click on the link located on the page it takes you to.

Ghostly hitchhiker

What's going on tonight? M. and I have a couple lobsters, then I think we're going to check out the UNB vs. STU hockey game. Speaking of hockey, lost 3-1 on Wednesday against the Hawks (Dave Clark, Chris Skead and Jon Sweet. We should've won, dammit. I freakin' let the first 3 shots on goal in, but then I stopped the next 30 shots, so...I felt kinda bad, but then again my team has trouble scoring.

Trés Semmé, ooh la la!

Step one: Get up around 9am on Saturday morning.

Step two: Get thy hungover arse to the Fredericton Boyce Farmer's Market

Step three: Purchase a strawberry-banana smoothie from the folks on the far wall of the new section

Step four: Smile at the well-frocked cuties selling organic veggies from Mark

Step five: This is essential, approach the cheese stall on the near wall, just beside the entrance of the new section. Don't be dismayed by the line up. Ask one of the lovelies for 1/4 to a half pound of the buttery goodness pictured above.

Step six: thank me.

Too busy today, posts tomorrow

Just have a couple of pics from our overnighter at the Algonquin in St. Andrews. Very luxurious, though not many people around. The food was the best part, for me. That and some quality time with my M.

Above is, obviously the Algonquin. Below is a shot from the water front:

Sorry this is short, but Heroes is on in 15 minutes and I've got to fold some laundry. Hope everyone's weekend was nice.

La Joie de vivre

Friday is awesome. I work through most of my lunch on Friday, so I get to leave early. Then go home, have a beer. Usually go to the Rogue for supper with the folks, or grab something with Margo. Hang with my girl until about 9 or 9:30 and hopefully head to my cousin Adam's for a couple of rums and watch a flick or play some guitar, workshop our latest songs. Sounds pretty good, eh?

You'll notice the song I'm listening to, well, she's coming to the Playhouse in March, and Margo REALLY wants to go. She loved her the last time she came, saying that her live performance was endearing, and much in the vein of the Storytellers series. Anyway, my poor muffin called the box office today only to discover - gasp - the show has been sold out!!! There will be a limited release at the doors the day of, and since it's next door to work, I'll see what I can do.

We're heading to the Algonquin tomorrow for a luxurious overnighter. The image I posted is Picasso's Le Joie De Vivre. M. and I are desperately trying to find an awesome work for our living room. We would like an original preferably, but originals are usually trés cher. Anyone have some favourite works to suggest?

Got a foot in the door...

Well now, isn't this special. I've done the livejournal, done the myspace. But I think I need a spot like this to write, I don't do it enough.

I am the Bowie, and this is my blog. I'll probably talk about cds I'm listening to, my hockey scores from the night before, post some pics thanks to my (okay, the wife's) sweet new digicam, gigs that I have coming up, and maybe some creative writing and links.

Since I am at work, I should cut this short. Went to Reggae night for a bit last night, my wife was out with the dirtyhot bloggers (shout it out ladiez). What an awesome band, very credible dub, with Pete on the mixah. I had just finished hockey and with the wife out with the ladiez, I was driving. Hot sweaty, beats to skank to.

P.S. We lost 4-1 last night to a team we should have beaten. I told Sarah Clarification here at work that we won. Sorry Sarah! Oh, the shame...

Also, Jill Barber is playing at the Charlotte St. Arts Center tomorrow night...
